In this project, in order to alleviate the educational disparity caused by not being able to go to school, we will hold a workshop at the Shigetagawa Community Center and provide a place for interaction with young people from different fields and people from multiple generations in the area.

We also visualize experiences as deliverables and provide experiences that allow students to earn credits even for activities outside of school.

The first workshop will be held on July 27th (Thursday) to "Learn about graphic recording!" We will be holding workshops from time to time!

In Okinawa Hub's first project, we held a contest in which members and participants had to design future tourism through input and output experiences.

In line with Global Shapers Community's mission of "empowering the young generation," this program aims to foster human resources who will carry the future of Okinawa with love and independently create industry through the contest. Rather than focusing locally, we utilized the resources of the Global Shapers Community, which connects the world, and deepened our learning by referring to advanced examples from around the world.

LEAP DAY by Ryukyufrogs

Frogs is a leader in the education scene in Okinawa. In 2020, four people from GSC (Shiraishi, Matsuda, Nakamine, and Shimoji) took the stage at LEAP DAY, which is held once a year by Frogs. This time's theme is "Yuifu". People who are active in various fields across generations come together to take action to create a better Okinawa, Japan, and the world through sharing knowledge and ideas and dialogue with each other, rather than giving in to the new coronavirus. It was a wonderful place to think.

We have a vision of ``connecting Okinawa with the world and continuing to be a challenger aiming for a better society.'' LEAP DAY was titled "The Power of Youth In Action," and in addition to explaining the signs of change in the world caused by the new coronavirus, which the World Economic Forum has named the Great Reset, we also talked about business development and traditional performing arts at long-established hotels in the prefecture. We introduced the efforts of three people who are developing business centered on the inheritance/development and graphic recording of Okinawa, and thought about Okinawa with/after the corona era.

A meeting to think about special days in Okinawa, Hiroshima, and Nagasaki

We held a workshop where we learned about the ``special days'' in Okinawa, Hiroshima, and Nagasaki, and reconsidered what ``peace'' means to us and to our generation.

In Okinawa Prefecture, June 23rd is called Remembrance Day, and it is an important day for the people of Okinawa to think about ``peace'' once again. In Okinawa, Memorial Day is recognized as a ``special day'' to pray for peace again, and there are ``special days'' across the country as well. In Hiroshima, August 6th and in Nagasaki, August 9th are remembered as ``special days'' by residents of the prefecture.

By learning about each ``special day,'' you may make new discoveries, and by learning about the ``peace'' that each person talks about, you may be able to think more deeply about peace for yourself. I hope it will be a day where we can all share the ``special days'' that are handed down in each region and think about ``peace'' for our generation. It is difficult to hear directly from the generation that experienced war. I wish we could all think of ways to pass on peace to the next generation, and I wish we could create a culture where everyone can receive the ``thoughts'' that someone wants to express. We planned it with that in mind.
